Protests against International Monetary Fund and World Bank held in Istanbul started in 1st of October and continued on the meeting days, 6th - 7th of October. Turkish police used water cannons, tear gas and pepper spray to disperse hundreds of demonstrators, protesting against the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Istanbul. Thousands of police wearing gas masks and protective gear erected barriers around the venue and detained dozens of protesters.
